Managing Anger in Young People

This two-day event will provide a clear and simple introduction to assisting young people to manage anger effectively. This course is suitable for those who are either interested in working with young people, or who are currently doing so. The event explores the roots of anger and aggression in young people, perception and public opinion, and conditioning and role modelling. The course also offers participants to identify and explore case examples and ways in which to solve problems and manage anger in young people.

Target Audience:

This course is for all those who manage and or supervise young people with anger management issues. Participants from statutory, independent and charitable agencies are particularly suitable.

Objectives

By the end of the courses, participants will:

  • ·     Identify how to work comfortably with the young person in acknowledging the reasons for anger

  • ·     Obtain material and techniques for encouraging safe disclosure and change mechanisms

  • ·     Examine  ‘healthy’ and ‘unhealthy’ anger reactions to life and events

  • ·     Receive techniques and information to assist young people in managing anger effectively

  • ·     Received supporting handouts to assist in transferring methods to the workplace
